Because I am blind , when I first moved to this big city I found it very hard to get around on my own. The streets are full of traffic and there are so many people . I was used to living in a small house with my family in the country , but I had come to the city to study at university . At first , I felt too scared to leave my room . But then my friend had a great idea ---- I shoud get a guide dog !
The next day I went to the Blind Association's centre to ask for one . They were happy to help me ,
And introduced a young dog called " Ben " To me . Before I could go out with him , I had to talk to feed and care for him . Now he is my best friend .
Ben seems to know his way around the city better than most people ! We never get lost . He knows when to stop for traffic lights , and he makes me feel safe in the crowded streets .
