rebellious mentality

My kid will turn 12,a boy who recently shows anxiety about
independance from me. He seldom disobeys my direction and
instruction.Now he grows up and his wings seem to be
harder. Maybe he has already reached so called"rebellious
mentality" period.When I repeated something, he will
feel annoyed.when I get angry with him and beat him,
he will retort and hit back rebelliously.I am very anxious
about his attitude and his future,but I can't help.How
can I do to save our broken relationship?
Could you tell the way to solving this problem so called rebellious mentality.Because it relate to
my happy family and my good mood.How to deal with this kind of mentality?Should I restrain myself?

try to communicate with your son rather than merely giving instructions. find out the way his mind works and his perception about you as a mother. show him your faith and confidence in his capabilty. sometimes, kids just are being rebellious just because they want their parents to recognise and acknowledge their capability. you don't have to let him do whatever he wants but you can encourage him to make his own decisions. after all, a 12-yr old should be mature enough to manage his own stuff and time to some extent.
