which do you think is more important,sports or lessons?
这是九年级英语练习册中的一句话，这句中is是否正确，能不能是are，为什么？

而这个对话下面又有一句，它写到i think lessons are more important that sports.
如何理解？请权威指点！

第一句是选择关系用OR连接，名词代表整体。
第二句中的lessons and sports代表各类文化学科和体育项目。
I think lessons are more important than sports.
第二句如果lessons and sports 前加the 那么就是

个人想法，不算权威。

第一句话：课程和运动哪个更重要，这里虽然课程和运动都是复数，但问句以which开头，问这两组概念之间“哪一个”更重要，因此要用is而不是are。
第二句话：同样是课程和运动相比较，但作为复数的课程（lessons）是从句的主语所以从句的谓语动词一定要用are。这句话只是想说明“我认为课程比运动更重要”，楼上说可以在lessons和sports前面加定冠词the，是不对的，这句话中的课程和运动都不宜特指，而只能是泛指。
