On Strategies of Memorizing English Words
ABSTRACT
English is playing a significant role in ours life. How to study English well has already become one subject to the university students’ matter of concern. The mastery of English words has an important influence on the communicative competence. As a failure in memorizing words is an obstacle to English listening, speaking, reading and writing, many an educator finds that memorizing words has become an important part in the English learning.
This thesis consists of three parts. In the first part the author mainly deals with the importance and the schools of English words memorizing strategies; in the second part the author casts light on some strategies of words memorizing including their application as well as their good points and bad points, and makes a brief study on how to use affixes, the linguistic environment, comparison as well as association to memorize English words.
