本文在研究现有的多种流行多媒体播放器的基础上，将多媒体用户最常使用的功能整合起来，利用VC.NET开发了这款多媒体播放软件。本文所设计的多媒体播放器Mini Player用MCI接口实现的音频与视频播放，能够播放多种音频、视频文件格式，包括WAV、MID、AVI、MP3、MPEG，并具有播放、停止、打开文件、快进、快退等功能。
本播放器具有媒体播放的常用功能，用户界面简约友好，运行占用资源少、并且源码开放，拥有很强扩展能力，整体具有较强的稳定性。
