olymic games 是单数还是复数

在句子中作为这一项盛事来说的时候是单数，譬如中国举办奥运会，用is held或者has held。
如果涉及到其中有很多活动，前面加定冠词The，就用复数。
如 the Olympic Games (Greek: Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες; Olympiakoi Agones) were a series of athletic competitions。

is 因为这里的games用复数+s来表示运动会的意思(因为里面后很多项运动,故用复数). 平常的games如果不表示运动会的话要用are.

前面+ the 时表示复数，后面+ are
不加 the， 表示单数,后面 +is
