是不是以上这两个到宾语从句中不用把was放在后面?
是不是本身就是陈述句语序?

他们不用倒置
如果倒置了，I know what the matter is. 我知道（那个）物质是什么。
不倒置，I know what is the matter我知道出什么事了。

这是特殊的。。不用倒置。。
例如：i don't know what’s the matter with you。
