负责管理土生文化馆的亚洲文明博物馆馆长郭勤逊博士指出，亚洲文明博物馆在1997年开幕时，花了将近一年的时间才吸引6万名参观者，土生文化馆在短时间内就获得热烈的支持，突显国人对本地博物馆的支持度有所增加。

此外，本地参观者占到访人数的75％，其余的参观者是外国旅客。
土生文化馆在短短两个月内取得“双喜临门”的表现，郭勤逊认为，这显示博物馆越来越受本地人欢迎，为向来在吸引本地参观者方面面对挑战的博物馆来说是一大鼓励。
为庆祝开幕，土生文化馆在开幕的首两天让到访者免费入场，之后的两个星期六和星期日，成人和小孩一律能够以每人2元的特价入场参观。多数参观者是在4月26日和5月11日之间的周末参观土生文化馆。
