An fatal accident took place at this cross three years ago.(交通事故不是没有预料的,应该用HAPPEN的么?)
The stroy took place in a small village.(事情的发生应该是没有预料到的,怎么会用take place?)

(1). take place

Great changes have taken place in our hometown during the past ten years.

The Olympic Games of 2008 will take place in Beijing.

What happened to you? (一般不说:What did you happen?)

Maybe something unexpected happened.

I happened to see him on my way home.

= It happened that I saw him on my way home.

An fatal accident took place at this cross three years ago.
The fatal accident happened at the moment I got to that street.

An fatal accident took place at this cross three years ago.
The stroy took place in a small village
