对的。不省略的话，应该说成：i am taller than she is .

换成her虽常用，但在语法上不是“正确”用法。

参见此例：

i love you more than him .=> i love you more than i love him .
我爱你胜过爱他。

i love you more than he.=> i love you more than he loves you .
我比他更爱你。

用her会比较好 或者 i am taller than she is 也可以
