Clinical history: 63 year old male with history of anal spasm.
Protocol: MRI of the pelvis with and without 10 cc Magnevist IV contrast were obtained without endorectal coil. Coronal and sagittal T2-weighted images were performed after the insertion of an endorectal coil. There is no comparison.
Findings: the prostate is normal in size measuring 4.6*3.5*3.3 cm. there is a moderate amount of central prostatic hypertrophy . The bladder is partially distended with no definite masses seen. Bilateral urecteral jets are noted. There is no free fluid within the pelvis. There are no suspicious osseous lesions.
No abnormal signal is seen within the rectal wall. There is no evidence of rectal wall thickening. There is no evidence of fistulous tract . The perirectal fat planes are well-preserved. There is no evidence of pelvic adenopathy. There is no abnormal enhancement of the rectal wall. Visualized bowel is nondilated.
