Translation studies is the academic discipline which is concerned with the study of translation at large,including literary translation, commercial translation, dubbing and subtitling for the cinema and telebision (including subtitling for the Deaf and sign-languang interpreting of things like news programmes),voice-overs, translating for the stage(drama translation)and for the opera(surtitling).It also includes various forms of oral interpreting(not only simultaneous conference interpreting but also interpreting for the media,for diplomats,in business meetings, in community settings such as tax offices, hospitals; and courts),etc.
