others
相当于other + 名词
some detectives are looking for him, and others are keeping guard at the door,这里，others = other detectives

the others
是“其余的”意思, 表示在一个范围内的其他全部

another
三者或者三者以上当中的另外一个

the other
两者当中的另外一个，前面一定会有一个词和他相关，类似a,an,one

the others
是“其余的”意思, 表示在一个范围内的其他全部, 如： This dictionary is better than the others. 这本字典比别[其余]的好。
others
和some对比使用时, 是“有些”的意思而不是做“其他”讲。
another只是指再一个
the other经常和one配合使用，one…the other，但是这个是对两个而言的，“一个…另一个”
