Guangzhou: Cantonese or Mandarin?

It is mainly Cantonese but TV and broadcasting are in Mandarin. Most people speak Mandarin.

Most people in guangzhou speak Cantonese as their unique dialect but they also speak Mandarin with local accents that you may find a little bit hard to follow without a sound knowledge of Mandarin. Anyway, people all over the world use body language, don't they?

We use Mandarin in education.But the people in city always use Cantonese in social life.
