英语清单诗的诗句长短比较灵活且有重复的短语。其主题一般很随意，早餐、朋友的后院、到海边去要带的东西等等，皆可成诗。这种诗可以押韵，也可以不押韵，只要大致注意语言的简练，用词的搭配，具有朗诵性就可以。
