“read that”是“在书上看过”的意思吗？后面为什么要加“seem to”，总觉得加了之后怪怪的，just can't find a home不就可以了吗？

takes more of a role怎么翻译，“扮演更多角色”不是应该是takes more roles吗

read还有个理解的意思，并不一定是从书上看过的，而且just can't find a home可能是一种推测，所以为了准确起见加了seem to。
more of a role与more roles其实差不多，不过更偏向于另外的意思
that是后面是一个宾语从句，that是一个连词，没有什么实际的意义
seem to 是“似乎”的意思，这里要看作者写这个句子的感情色彩，你那样说也对啦
应该是扮演了额外的一个角色的意思
