I felt the adrenaline coursing through my veins again, and I thought I had the answer. Some
combination of adrenaline and danger, or maybe just stupidity.

肾上腺素

肾上腺素，使心脏收缩力上升；心脏、肝、和筋骨的血管扩张和皮肤、粘膜的血管缩小。在药物上，肾上腺素在心脏停止时用来刺激心脏，或是哮喘时扩张气管。 肾上腺素能使心肌收缩力加强、兴奋性增高，传导加速，心输出量增多。

这里是表示非常兴奋、激动。

其实在中文里也有类似用法，比如说某人性情古怪，就会用内分泌失调来形容，呵呵。
