请看这句是important 还是importance?

雅思书里写的是：The development of China today has proved the important of the policy, so that the opponent's argument cannot hold water.
important不是形容词吗？也可以加the 当作名词？

我觉得 the important 是可以的，the 加形容词表示一类吧，整体的作用相当于名词

应该是importance

绝对应该是importance，重要性，必是名词无异。

没有见过“important”当名词的用法，可能是印刷错误。
