take place与happen有什么区别？

happen 为常用词。用于表明偶然发生的，没有预料到的事情。
take place 为稍正式用语。用于表明按照计划，安排发生的事件。除“发生”外，
常常翻译为“进行、举行、开展”。

例句：The accident happened on the Sunday night. 这个事故发生在星期天晚上。
The celebration ceremony takes place in July each year. 庆祝典礼在每年七月举行。

注意：happen 与 take place 通常都没有被动语态。

和上面意思不一样。

take place 表示“发生、举行、举办”，一般指非偶然性事件的“发生”，即这种事件的发生一定有某种原因或事先的安排，例如：

Great changes have taken place in our hometown during the past ten years.

The Olympic Games of 2008 will take place in Beijing.

(2) .happen作“发生、碰巧”解，一般用于偶然或突发性事件，例如：

What happened to you? (一般不说：What did you happen?)

Maybe something unexpected happened.
