the other one（一个与一个单独比）
This one is better than the other one.

the other one一般指两者中的另一个。
here are 2 books .one is mine ,and the other one is yours

the others 的意思是 其它的所有人、物。是一个特定范围内的其它人或物。比如
here are 10 books . 2 of them are mine .the others are yours

都表示其他

the others 表示三个或三个以上的其他

the other one表示两者之间的另一个

the others 和the other one的用法几乎相同，都是指定在在已知范围内的代词。the others 用于复数表示 “其它”的意思；the other one用于单数表示 “另一个”的意思。换句话说，后者多用于one......the other one......

后者通常用于两者之间的比较
前者通常用于多个里面的其中一个与其它的不同

the others 是指剩下的全部（总体要至少3个）
