I am a new senior school student. I have some trouble in learning English. When I entered this school,I made up my mind to learn English well. I spent much time reading and writing but I couldn't make any progress. I can't read the text smoothly. In class I am unable to understand what the teacher is saying in English. I am in great trouble. I'm afraid I will not catch up with my classmates forever. What should I do?

It is not very difficult to learn English well. I can imagine how difficult it is to learn English as a beginner at this moment. My suggestion to it is to invest more of your time on reading and listening skills by for example, reading newspaper or watching movies. I am quite sure that they will improve your English skills dramatically. Also, writing journals regularly is highly recommended since it will get yourself out of mother tongue for a while on daily basis and concentrate on English practices.
