1 within his rights意思是某事在他权限范围内，再理解下就是他有权做某事。全句综合理解，因为售货员接受支票总会有一定风险，所以他有权拒绝。
2 called in question 又被质疑的意思。这句里面显然不能说被怀疑，用质疑好些。
3 certainly一般用于表示对将来的事、还未发生的事表示确定。不适用于这个句子。
4 最后一题好像有些问题，不应该用reads吗？
