在周末是on the weekend,这个周末就不用介词了吗？

还有 in the afternoon和this afternoon

英语有相关语法是解释这个的吗？
on this weekend 和this weekend区别？

在这里 this 是指定代词
比如this,that,these,those都叫指定代词
在英语里 如果一个名词（比如weekend周末这个名词）前面有了指定代词修饰
就不能加介词on了

还有名词前如果有了物主代词修饰
比如说 my,your等修饰了 前面也不能加介词了

in the afternoon和this afternoon也是一样道理

如果用this的话是特指这个星期天才去，用on的话是指每个星期天都去

一般语法习惯上on the weekend是过去的某时点，多数用在一般过去式，this weekend在这里就是介词短语，不用再加介词on，多数用在将来时。同理应用于in the afternoon 和 this afternoon.
