UC知道Don't you have exams coming up soon?语法问题

我想知道coming up 的语法，应该是现在分词做后置定语吧 可现在分词表示的不是进行的状态吗，可是考试还没到啊
come go leave 等动词为非持续性动词。用现在进行时则表示的意思是将来时！
“coming up soon”在这里是后置的定语，用来修饰“exams”
也可以说成是“Don't you have exams that will comes up soon?”
The exams are coming考试即将到来
don't you have exams that comes up soon?
加“will”是表示以前从未考试过。
