A penniless vagrant； not worth a penny——这两个都是表示“穷”的程度较深的习语。
以上朋友的翻译也都很好，但我要提出的是，最好不要用poor形容一个人很穷。虽然“poor”确实有穷的意思，但英美人听到这个词的第一反应是这个人很可怜，并不会马上联想到他的经济状况。
我上面说的那两个习语可以拿来给老外炫耀一下哈哈，因为听起来不是那么常用。实际上英美人最喜欢说的是 sb. be broke(我没钱了，我很穷)，如果要说穷光蛋的话就用程度深一点的sb. be stony broke 或 sb. be stone-broke。这就是相当地道的用法啦！
