There was once a farmer who lived near a road .
lt was not a busy road,but ftom time to ,cars psaaed the fatm .
Near the farm gate,there was a large hole in the toad .
This hole was always full of water,and the drivwrs of the cars could not see how deep the hole was.They thought it was probably shallow .
Then when they drove into hole,they could not drive out because it was so deep.
The farmer did not spend much time working on his farm.He spent most of it watching the hole.
When a car drove into it,he pulled the car out with his tractor and charged the driver a lot of money for doing this.
One day,the driver of a car said to him,"You must make a lot of money pulling cars out of this hole night snd day".
"Oh,no,"the farmer said."I don't pull cars out of the hole at night.At night l fill the hole with water."

那个农夫并没有花很多时间照看农场。他的绝大部分时间都用来守着这个坑。
当车辆被陷到坑里，他就用拖拉机把车子拉出来并要求司机支付大笔费用。
有一天，一位司机对他说：“你肯定靠整天拖车赚了好多钱。”
“噢，不是整天”，农夫说：“晚上我我并不拖车，而是往坑里蓄水。”
一个地洞
曾经有个农民，家住在公路旁边，公路虽车辆来往不多，但却从未间断过。车辆穿过公路田间旁，在田间口的那个地方有个很大的洞。这个洞一直填满着水，那些路过的开车司机都不知道它有多深，觉得它应该很浅，不过当他们开车驶过那个洞的时候，才发现洞很深以致车被陷在那里不能动弹。
农民其实在田间不干什么火，主要还是看着那个洞，当车辆被陷在洞中了，他就用拖拉机把车拉出来，以此来收取费用。
有一天，有个开车司机问农民, “你这样日日夜夜地把那些陷进去的车拉出来应该赚不少钱吧。”
“不，”农民说道“我在晚上不拉那些被陷进去的车，在晚上我要把那个洞用水添满。”
