他的意思是

tens of thousands of people 成千上万的人

不对，你记住：
thousand,hundred, million这类词前面有具体数字时，后面什么也不加，如 2 thousand ,3hundred
如果前面没有数字的话，必须要加s，加of
如thousands of 成千上万的
hundreds of 成百上千的
millions of 好几百万的
所以上述表达应说为10 thousand people
或者thousands of people

应该是tens of thousand of people
意思是：上万的人

只听说过 hundreds of thousands of people 成百上千的人

很多人........
