Anna Sui (born in 1964, in Detroit, Michigan USA) is an American fashion designer. She has 509 boutiques in twenty-six countries, with over 200 in Japan alone. Her collection is sold in 5,000 partner stores on five continents in over 70 countries.

According to her own anecdote, Sui dressed her dolls and her younger brother's toy soldiers, and pretended they were at the Oscars. Later she began making and designing some clothes imitating magazine photos. After graduating from high school Anna Sui moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design, where she started to work with close friend Steven Meisel who is today widely recognized as the industry's leading fashion photographer. Her early days as a stylist from Meisel’s shoots include editorial for the Italian Fashion Magazine LEI.
