我觉得原句的doing so 好象可以理解成：while he was taking the risk do 就是指take risk(就是用兴奋挤)你要是弄成taking drugs 好象我总觉得 不应该用taking 一样 你觉得呢？
或者while 相当于by??? 或者意思是but?
while he was taking drugs
while he was doing so.
这两个是正确的。
原句里是while doing so，改了之后还应是这个时态。
而且while一般都用在进行时态里。
