thousand前用具体数字，后面不加of.如：
five thousand books

thousands of 表示”成千的”．如：
thousands of books

没有THOUSAND OF 这个词组~
要用的话~必须在THOUSAND OF 前面加上"基数词"(one\two...)表示"几千"

thousands of=thounds 可通用
数千的

没有thound of

thousand,hundred,million的用法都一样：thousands of 或 数量＋thousand，没有thousands,thousand of的用法。
e.g. I saw hundreds of balloons in the sky.
There may be 2 thousand apples in this room.
