[摘要]:两个世纪以来，《儒林外史》的研究取得了丰硕成果。但很少有人关注到书生形象这一问题，将其作为一个类型或整体来进行研究。有鉴于此，本文拟将《儒林外史》中的众多书生文人的形象作为一个整体，进行系统研究。结合吴敬梓的自身经历和当时的时代背景，对书中各个书生形象进行分析评价。
