做了一个关于现在分词的题目
while i was waiting at the doctor's, i read the whole of a short story. 可以换成 while waiting
After you have used the bruseh, put it in its proper place 分句可以换成 after using the brush
if you work hard, you will succeed.
为什么不用if working hard, you will succeed 而只是用 working hard, you will succeed???
刚才edwardswift 说的有一点道理。不过
while he worked, he sang 可以改成while working, he sang. 这里的while 也不是介词啊，怎么也对呢

应该改为
Work hard, and you will succeed.
这个句子省略了if。。。其实就相当于
If you work hard, you will succeed.
句型：祈使句，+and 。。。= IF ... , ...
时间和条件状语从句的省略有一个原则，这就是，主句和从句中的主语须一致，也就是说要表达的是同一事物，从句谓语中有be(包括be的各种形式），则可以省略从句中的主语和be。你前面的第一个句子就属于这一类。
第二个句子则是另一条规则，这里的after不是连词而是介词，后面的是动名词做介词宾语。表达的意思是一样的。
第三句，因为if只能做连词不可以作介词，所以不能说if working ...。
if 是连词，所以从句也必须是个完整的句子。working hard...这个没有连词就要用分词伴随了，
while, after也是连词。
语法规定，记住就可以了，没有为什么
