《The Witches》即《女巫》，其作者罗尔德·达尔（Roald Dahl）近几年在中国似乎很有名气。几年前，曾在书店里见过他的很多童话译本，都那么贵，干脆一本不买。所以，这是我第一次读达尔的童话（以前只读过他的小说）。童话的开头非常有趣，在《关于女巫》（A note about Witches）这一节里，有很多好玩的叙述，比如这两段：
