Both与 either的区别

both表示两者都，而either表示两者中的其中一个
如：（1）Both she and her brother have the chance to go abroad.她和她哥哥都有出国的机会。
（2）Either she or her brother has the chance to go abroad.要么是她，要么是她哥哥有出国的机会。
either在很多情况下与or连用,both 经常和and连用
either还可以用在否定句的句末（用逗号隔开），表示“也”，与too用在肯定句中一样
如：She is a beautiful girl,too.她也是一个漂亮的女孩子。
She is not a beautiful girl,either.她也不是一个漂亮的女孩子。
要对both表示的两个事物进行否定时，可以在both前加not,但这并不是对两者的否定，如在第一个例子中，如果在both前加not就表示“并不是她和她哥哥都有出国的机会”，也就是说她和她哥哥可能只有一个人有出国的机会。另外一种是用neither...nor取代both...and,这时就表示，还以第一个为例，她和她哥哥都没有出国的机会
