出国读新闻学

我是国内一所不很出名的重点大学学气象的大二学生。现在想跨专业申请国外大学的新闻学专业研究生。请问申请那些学校较好，需要做哪些准备工作，该考什么语言考试（如果是英语国家学校的话该选雅思，托福还是GRE，非英语国家学校的话又该拿到什么证书）以及一些注意事项和tips。
