No use taking an earlier bus
It's half past eight in the morning.Miss Green is giving her Englishlesson.She is writing "make an rxcuse" on the blackboard. "What's the meaning?"she asks.Allthe students look at her and they know why.
"May I come in,madam?"a girl asks at the door.
"Come in,please,"says Miss Green."You're ten minuteslate,jane."
The girl often makes some excuses when she is late for class.Sometimes she says she doesn't feel well,or the bus is broken on the way,or her watch is slow and so on.
"I'm sorry,madam,"says Jane."I'm late because the traffic was bad,and Ihad to wait for the lights to turn green."
"Ijust took the earlier bus.But it was no use.The later bus overtook wht earlier one!"answers Jane.

不用早早去等公交车。
现在是早上8点半，Green 女士在上英语课。她在黑板上写下“找借口”。“什么意思啊？”她问道。所有的学生都看着她，他们知道发生了什么事情。
“我能进来吗？”一个在门口的女孩问道。
“请进。”Green 女士说。“你迟到了10分钟，Jane.”
那个女孩在她迟到的时候经常找借口。有时候，她说她身体不舒服，有时候，她说公交车在路上坏了，有时候，她说她的手表慢了等等。
“对不起，老师。”Jane说道。“由于交通状况极其差，所以我迟到了，我不得不一直等到绿灯。”
“我已经乘坐了早班车，但是它还是没有用。迟来的公交车赶上了早班车！”Jane解释到。
