late和later

二者的区别主要是在意义上的．
late 一般形容词，表示的是迟的，晚期的，新近的意思
它也可以做副词，表示晚，迟，在晚期
eg：she is late for school．
she wakes up late．
而later则可以作为late的比较级形式，或者做时间副词表示随后，稍后．
eg： she comes here later than me．（比较级用法）

而表示最新的，最近的，一般用latest，他同时可以做late的最高级形式
