本人为此语句想了很久,但始终没有办法将它翻译正确.也曾请教过很多同事,上百人竟无人能答.无奈今天要把这个问题放到Internet发表.希望能行到更人的人帮助.

stand在做动词时可以象lie ,is等一样 做"位于"讲.
你这个结构the table standing at the windows中, stand加上了ing,是动名词做定语,来修饰table.
常理讲 窗户上当然不能有桌子,所以
1 桌子在窗户旁边.
2 桌子在窗户下面.
这两种翻译方法都是正确的!~
总之都是挨着啦~~~ 只是看的角度不同了~~~~
