首先bank有银行和堤岸两种意思,在做"堤岸"的意思时,如果提到具体的左堤右堤要用单数,即the left of the bank/the right of the bank,在没有说明的情况下,一律the banks 用复数,

习惯用法了，对于河岸海岸都用banks形式。

bank:一是银行,一是河岸.
在此为:我和我妻子沿着河畔散步.虽然他们不是一人走一边,但河确实存在两岸,故bank要加"s"
