本次实验运用正交试验法探索从毛发中提取胱氨酸的最佳条件，以及所制取的黑色素的染发能力。结果表明在所有因素中，盐酸的用量及浓度是主要的影响因素，而在所选的水解时间范围内，水解时间的影响较小。最佳水解条件为盐酸浓度28%，盐酸的用量180ml，水解时间10小时，所得到的胱氨酸量0.2720g。所得的黑色素和发油（由橄榄油、蓖麻油、羊毛脂等配成）按重量1：0.8调成糊状，施用于头发，黑色素与头发有十分良好的亲和力，能将白发着成黑色，色泽自然，效果好。从毛发中提取黑色素所制得的染发膏和胱氨酸具有良好市场价值。
