竹纤维是从天然竹子里面提取的纤维。分为两种，一种叫竹原纤维，是从原竹里面直接提取出来的纤维。这种纤维纺纱和织造性能不好，所以应用很少。另一种叫竹黏胶纤维，是从原竹里提取纤维素用黏胶纤维工艺制造出纤维。严格的说属再生纤维。市面上的竹纤维绝大多数是后者。通常所说得竹纤维也就是指的竹黏胶纤维。因竹纤维具有很多其他天然纤维所不具备的优点，在毛巾、床上用品、服装服饰等纺织领域的应用越来越广泛。随着时间的推移、技术的进步将有更多更好的竹纤维产品面世。
一、竹纤维纺织品的特点
1、软 手感、触感舒适柔软。
2、滑 手感、触感光滑有丝绒感。
3、爽 不论是干燥还是湿水状态下都感觉清清爽爽、不粘腻。
4、亮 竹纤维丝本身有光泽，色彩光鲜亮丽。
5、新 自始至终光亮如新、柔软如初。
6、抗菌杀菌 24小时杀菌率为75%，对使用者的健康有好处。
7、亲肤性好 最适合做贴身性纺织品
8、吸水性透气性好 吸水性是棉毛巾的1.5倍。
9、具有较深的文化内涵 中国人自古以来就喜爱竹子，竹纤维产品具有天然的人文色彩。
10、竹纤维产品是生态纺织品 天然生长的竹子，具有天然的抗病虫害能力，无需使用农药也不用施化肥。而棉花生产需要大量使用农药和化肥。同时在棉纺织品后处理方面，为提高产品的外观和使用效果，往往大量使用染料和助剂，既污染环境又有残留。而竹纤维纺织品就没有这些问题，使用后丢弃，在自然界很快降解，不污染环境，源于天然又归于大地。
