不同的环境给人们带来不同的感受，可能受人喜爱，也可能令人厌恶。体验使人们意识到优美舒适的城市环境的重要性。因此城市环境体验是能够给人们带来引起美感的享受的艺术，是一门建设美丽愉悦，拥有完整精致景观的和谐的整体城市环境的新兴学科。城市环境体验的生动性与连贯性是享有和使用城市环境的决定性条件。
