When the students enter our school in the fifth grade at the age of ten they must choose English or French as their first foreign language During the first two years they may be in a so called "music class" where everybody learns a wind instrument in group.
After the sixth grade all the students have to take a second foreign language such as French or Latin or English if English was not their first foreign langu¬age. Spanish and Italian which can be added in ninth grade, respectively in eleventh grade, complete the catalogue of foreign languages at our school. Starting in seventh grade especially motivated and proficient students are provided the opportunity to take part in the "BEGYS"-Progran where they are put together in special classes of more homogeneous groups completing the four years of the intermediate level in three years. These students then graduate from our school after 12 years of total schooling instead of the usual 13 years
